The Nordic Neighbourhood Thinking Camp is a Nordic arena to share experiences, reflections and ideas about neighborhood development and strategic urbanism.
Combining presentations from acclaimed Nordic urban practitioners and thinkers, focused workshops, symposiums and social gatherings, the camp goes beyond the celebratory pitches. The ambition is to help foster ideas and bring forward practices that make a difference in terms of social and environmental sustainability.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Camilla van Deurs, City architect, Copenhagen
- Dan Hill, Director of Strategic Design at Vinnova, Sweden’s Innovation agency
- Hanna Harris, Chief design officer, Helsinki
- Anne Mette Boye, City architect, Aarhus
- Tor Inge Hjemdal, Managing director at Design Architecture Norway.

About the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2022 and the Nordic Network for Neighbourhood thinking
Oslo Architecture Triennale 2022 spotlights the neighborhood as a place and horizon for rethinking our cities. With the working title Mission Neighbourhood – (Re)forming communities, the Triennale explores the production of the places we share. Towards the festival in the fall of 2022, the Triennale is an open laboratory for investigations of how to form neighborhoods of the future as well as the systemic premises of neighborhood development.
The Triennale has initiated the Nordic Network for Neighbourhood Thinking, bringing together city architects, design institutions, and culture & community actors to strengthen the public sector’s ability to develop more cohesive, socially fair and culturally diverse neighborhoods. Through a series of partner camps and public symposiums, the ambition is to share practices and approaches to developing more socially sustainable, culturally vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.
