3rd Impact: The Identity Paradox. The Relationship Between Architecture, Comics and Photography

The exhibition "3rd Impact: The Identity Paradox. The relationship between architecture, comics and photography” (In Italian “3rD Impact: il paradosso dell'identità. Rapporto tra Architettura, Fumetto, Fotografia”) begins in Matera (Italy) December 28, with the presentation at 10:30 in the church of the former hospital of San Rocco.

In the late afternoon of the same day, at 18 in the Sassi of Matera there will be the vernissage of the exhibition, in the spaces of Momart Gallery, which will run until 8 January 2017.

'3rd Impact: the identity paradox "is a 'cultural association initiative Argot - in collaboration with the multidisciplinary study Rabatanalab (which is responsible for the artistic direction) and the curator Stefania Dubla - on the relationship between architecture, comics, and photography.
The exhibition will be replicated in Naples, Rome, Milan, Venice, and Paris, carrying in Italy and Europe the "paradox" as a method applied to the three arts.

What would happen if, paradoxically, were crashed anthropology for reportage photography, sensory experience for the architecture and the fantastic dimension for the comics? - She writes the curator - Through a game of balance, which recalls the hedgehog's dilemma of Schopenhauer, and contamination, which emerges in the visual paradox, you approach the understanding of the essence of the three disciplines, until the return of a deep identity concept, which directly involves the viewer in an experience that is sensitive and emotional together”.

The "Third Impact", the apocalyptic impact discussed in the Neon Genesis Evangelion series, which takes the title the exhibition, will be in this case a single series of architectural projects, comic illustrations, and photography, through the works of some of the most authoritative contemporary authors. Among the names appear: Tanino Liberatore, Filippo Scòzzari, Gli Scarabocchi di Maicol & Mirco, Danijel Zezelj, Giuseppe Palumbo, Giulio Rincione, Giuseppe Apollonio, Theo, Alberto Corradi, Daniela Di Matteo, Grazia La Padula,La Tram, Fabio Mantovani, Miguel Ángel Martín, Alberto Pagliaro, Massimo Pasca, Alberto Ponticelli, Pasquale Qualano, Eugenio Sicomoro, Tina Valentino, Sebastiano Vilella, Koji Yamaguchi, considered among the best illustrators of the Italian and international scene.

The event will also be available through a visual/emotional perception. The gallery lights will be turned off. At the enter, 17 lamps, designed by Antonio Infantino together with Rabatanalab and built by Argot by 3rd printing, will be given to visitors. "With this trick - tell the organizers - the host will become cartoon, losing its membership to dress color of light and shade. With the lamps not only identify with photographs of Marina Berardi, but will investigate architectures projecting on display comics the shadows of these, overlapping a real and fantastic dimension and enhancing the experience. Moving in the gallery, the users will be the same light of the exhibition, changing their movements with the perception and the effects of the proposal. Nothing is static, everything will change constantly always taking new shape in spontaneous reports and ungovernable of light and shadow created by the design of lamps".

In the morning conference, moderated by Roberto Rizzo, they will hear the speeches of critical Adriano Ercolani, Pancrazio Toscano, Emilio Salierno, artists Filippo Scòzzari, Marina Berardi, Antonio Infantino, as well as the Rabatanalab and Argot team, including Donato Montesano, Rocco Salomone, Danilo Loffreno, Daniele Molinari.
