Situated in south of the city of Vigneux-sur-Seine near Paris, the school project by AR+TE Architectes consists of the restructuring and a future extension in grouping the classrooms of maternal and elementary class in a single entity. The operation includes the restructuring of all the premises of education (classrooms and extracurricular premises) and the extension by the creation of the educational and psychomotor premises (library, computing and motricity classroom). More images and architects’ description after the break.

Located in a district in urban renovation financed by the ANRU (National Agency for the Urban renovation), the school is lined in the north and in the east by buildings of typical linear housing of eight floors, in the south by a free ground on which the housing is going to be built, and on the west by a suburban district. All the buildings except the extensions were realized by the agency of architecture named AUA between 1969 and 1975. School buildings were thus built by the architects Paul Chemetov and Jean Deroche in the 70’s. These three schools are adaptations of metallic constructive processes of industrial type.
