The initiative aims to provide guidance on preventive measures to be adopted at construction sites to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. While we understand the importance of continuing the services you provide to your clients and society, during this delicate time, it is crucial to redouble personal and collective safety and protection measures on-site.
Read the guidelines:
- Post signs of an easily readable size and warnings about personal hygiene and risk behavior;
- Set up fixed teams with a maximum of 2 or 3 workers working at the same time, but never in the same space;
- Minimize the movement of people between crews from different construction sites;
- Provide masks to everyone for frequent use. Personal tools and equipment must not be shared;
- Provide hand sanitizer and liquid soap to everyone at the jobsite entrance, in the site shed, and at restroom entrances;
- Educate on the importance of washing hands and nostrils frequently and properly;
- Provide disposable cups for single use only, avoiding sharing;
- Implement carpooling with a designated driver, thereby avoiding the use of public transportation;
- Avoid contact with external visitors (suppliers, clients, etc.); and
- Notify a manager or supervisor at the first sign of a cold/flu (fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, body aches, and other COVID-19 symptoms).
