International workshop “Shared Care”

COVID-19 has forced us to question the parameters we once considered "normal." For humanity, our journey through the world and the mark we leave behind have led us to confinement—a quarantine of our homes, which have been re-inhabited after being abandoned for work imposed by a world driven by production, the market, and capital.

In re-inhabiting these spaces, we have been confronted with our shortcomings, our affections, and our disaffections. Loneliness has become a companion and friend, while our consciousness has been filled with thoughts of the other, of the self, and of the collective—together in this world of individualism, yet more certain than ever of the value of what is shared, what is collective, and what belongs to everyone.
