Open Invitation: International Invited Design Competition for Construction of Hwaseong Museum of Art

Hwaseong City has achieved rapid growth in a relatively short period of time. Furthermore, as a youthful city with a high birth rate and the youngest average age, it possesses immense potential for future development.
Youthful Hwaseong City faces an urgent need to expand its cultural and art spaces, as it currently lacks sufficient infrastructure to enjoy works of local, domestic and foreign artists.

The site is located next to SRT Dongtan Station, the Gyeongbu Expressway, and the Second Capital Area Ring Expressway, offering the advantage of functioning as a transportation hub that facilitates intercity exchanges. In addition, its proximity to the Osancheon Riverside Park, a national river, enables connections with a variety of arts-related events. By creating synergies with nearby cultural facilities and cultural space projects, it has the potential to become a hub for a eco-friendly and multi-purpose cultural and arts space.
Hwaseong City is soliciting Requests for Qualification(RFQs) from architectural experts to propose a future-oriented landmark museum that will help define the city's identity and provide cultural and artistic infrastructure to support regional cultural growth.
