Located on Wagram avenue, this new hotel is located right where the Empire Theater used to be. The facade is characterized by undulating horizontal glazed bands. This great glass plaiting accommodates the rooms´ bow windows to free sight towards the Étoile and the Ternes. The two lower levels accommodate the boutiques as well as a large porch, which opens onto a court garden and leads to the Salle Wagram.

In parallel with this program, was also entrusted with the facade of the Salle. Previously the entrance to the Salle Wagram was not visible from the street; access was via a small hidden corridor along the side of the Empire Theatre to enter the entrance hall of the Salle. It therefore seemed obvious to offer a window from the street into the heart of the island.

WAVE says:

It looks like the facade waves are in fashion right now. An architectural hip so to speak. Yet I found that “wavy effect” is much more appropriate & expressive on the high-rise buildings. The cool sample for implementation of such architectonics would be “Aqua Tower” in Chicago (btw, the highest building on planet designed by female architect)

Katsudon says:

Yes Aqua tower is cool, but is just a skin effect while here the waves create particular spaces for the users.
Otherwise, this projects execution is pretty amazing, but the final result looks quite neutral in a way.
The managment of the transition between the base block and the upper wavy block is missing something…

I was there also, and unfortunately they don’t let people in (just the hotel’s guests etc..) :( But you can see more photos on Portzamparc’s website…

A bad imitation of gaudi’s building.
I wonder if the heat transformation is controlled in this design with such a facade.
(the facade is almost the same as that of Meydan Hotel, Dubai)

I think the place is good and well-maintained, this blog is also great for writing some information about their hotel. But I think there is only one mistake, you did not post some photos wherein the viewer can see the inside part of the hotel.
