@Kimbo Have attempted to scribe contents of this video for the visually impaired. Hope this is helpful.

Anand Bungalows, is a design and build company based in Malaysia. The key services they provide are in the areas of:
    1.Development feasibility and value management.
    2.Cost planning.
    3.Cost and Change management.
    4.Value engineering and value creation.
    5.Contract procurement and administration.
This video posted by them provides an overview of their container housing project involving the conversion of shipping containers into high end dwelling units. The design of the “Smart Green Home” as it is called, is based on the five principles of:
    1.Smart design
    2.Up-cycle and re-cycle
    3.Smart to build
    4.Energy efficiency
    5.Water conservation.
The vital planning stage has been illustrated with floor plans. Dimensions and areas are not very clear to read but one can see that the ground floor comprises a large living cum dining space with an open plan kitchen. In addition, there are two bedrooms with attached toilets and built-in wardrobes.
The first floor has two bedrooms with toilets attached. Large decks and balconies have been provided on the north and east facing sides which also have maximum fenestration and picture windows to provide natural day light and capture mountain views as the project is sited on mountainous terrain. This, according to the builder, has also been done to take advantage of the prevailing wind direction to provide for good cross ventilation. A necessity in a hot, humid climate. In contrast the west and south faces have little fenestration and large blank wall surfaces to reduce heat gain.
The builders recommend up-cycling of containers because of the advantages of speed, durability, cost effectiveness and transportability. The container unit dwellings can be stacked like a Lego system to provide for flexibility in planning, additionally, the steel structure is modular and can be integrated with other steel systems. The video shows the units being placed on and locked to RCC frame/undercarriage. From a construction point of view, the builders explain that the advantages of container housing are:
1.Smart to build- can be built on any type of terrain and have minimum impact on the environment because of reduced generation of on-site construction waste. The structure itself is termite proof. Greatly reduced construction time of four months.
2.The steel structure has been provided with external and internal wall paneling (dry wall) for aesthetic treatment of facades, thermal insulation, and also, presumably for carrying services. Couldn’t make out exactly what material has been used for this but the builders claim that they are “green” or sustainable.
3.The external envelope and the container structure are fully integrated/interconnected “with architectural detailing” and compact and can accept all services.
4.To conserve water, water harvesting and grey water treatment systems have been built in to the scheme.
