You can now pre-order 49 Cities, by WORKac. For this second edition, the book includes a new interview with Michael Webb (Archigram) and an essay by Sam Jacob (FAT).

    Maybe, they are trying to get the numbers in first before they print. If that is really so, it would be such a devious practice.

    Market your book with a copy from Lulu or some weird self-publishing companies.
    Take preorders and get initial sales numbers.
    Once it hits a reasonable number like 2,000-5,000 then start printing.

    I do not know for sure if SAA or WAC (sounds like WACK) is doing this but it sure seems like it. Preorder sales number might give them a better idea of total expected sales and reduce the likelihood of ending up with thousands of copies stuck in the warehouse.

    Norman Foster 5 was out on Amazon I think for more than nine months. What kind of a strange publishing company is Prestel! I cannot help but think that publisher might take preorders before the first printing. Why else? Why would you make your readers wait for close to one year?

This could be a reason for not having a release date yet.
