OMA´s CCTV facade completed

By — Filed under: Offices ,Public Facilities ,Skyscrapers , , ,

It’s not a rendering but an actual photo of the completed facade of the CCTV Building by OMA in . The visible face of this iconic building was finished just in time for the olympics, after 6 years of hard work between OMA, and chinese partners ECADI.

Quite impressive, isn’t it? Hopefully the next pictures we publish with the CCTV finished will be taken by me.

Pretty ugly, but not near the mastery of uglyness that that jerk Daniel Libeskind designs.

Less of an icon than the statue of liberty and no less important than say the eiffel tower or petronas towers in years to come?

Chicago G says:

it is really more of a politcal outcome, the entire competition and design process…..OMA hit the ball by creating such an abnormal, eye-teasing structure in the urban context, when the goverment just needs such an image politically.

Dear sir,

I was wondering if you’d know who has taken this picture? I would like to ask the photographer if we could use the picture for a leaflet for an academic symposium on China.
