of Coo Planning designed an apartment for four in Osaka Prefecture Sakai City.  The cilents expressed the need for booksheleves to fit their expansive book collection. Quite different from a traditional house interior, this building is clad in wood from floor to ceiling to try and provide a “warm, lofty feeling.”

Are there any other pictures from the exterior?

Lovely interior, with an excellent use of materials. It’s still empty, but even so it already looks warm… (I would like to see it after they filled the house with books!)

The only problem of this type of houses is that they are not usable if you have locomotion limitations…

Of course lack of space in Japan justifies the choice….

Love it!

Warm??? I find it cold, dark and dreary. It may as well be a ware house. Furniture and books would help. I find nothing about it warm.

ahh lovely. as a fan of wood and SHELVES i could be very happy here. not a fan of the netting on the railings though…and i’d have stuff growing outside and on the roof. would be awesome to see some exterior shots during day time.
