Nowa Huta of The Future, designed by BudCud, Centrala, and ARUP, is aimed at being a brand new direction of touristic experiences and a recreational map of Krakow. Their strategy has a potential of engaging new groups of potential investors and the residents of whole region. Nowa Huta of The Future is what the city needs to become world class metropolis. This new strategy promotes Vistula riverside with its lakes, ponds and meanders of its oxbow, using these areas as recreational parks and sport centers (horseback riding, golf, tennis). With the development existing settlements change into agricultural, leisure villages. Large scale theme parks with accompanying hotel and commercial infrastructure are located in the middle part of the site.
The areas of Nowa Huta steelworks owned by Arcelor Mittal get surrounded by new functions, changing it into progressive city district with visibly emphasized center. It gives space for business, high technology and clean industry development. Eco-recultivating of postindustrial areas will change steelworks into very attractive investment areas. Nowa Huta development direction is opposite to the historic development of Krakow’s city center.
Nowa Huta of The Future is a new quality of tourism, also engaging local community. It is a strategy for new economic, social and recreational activities.
