hmmm that’s quite a different design approach from shuhei endo compare to previous works he has done. Sort of reminds me of Toyo Ito’s project… forgot the name of it I think it was ceramic museum project or something close to that in Taiwan.

biboarchitect says:

I am really shocked of misunderstanding of blob in architecture.. people ran out of fine, detailed architecture by this huge big buildings while when constructed people will enjoy ceramic patterns on huge area of curved wall, and due to its huge scale & big radius of the curve it will look like a staight wall..

Lucas Gray says:

Hasn’t blobitecture gotten to the point where it is no longer new or unique? These types of buildings are going to go out of style like fluorescent colors, spandex and 80′s music.

http://news.architecture.sk/2007/08/destruction-of-classic-building-by-toyo.php

Having lived in Hong Kong myself where everything new is clad in bathroom tile, it appears the same will happen here. Should be exposed concrete but renderings suggest tile, aka a giant toilet bowl.

well,i do not really think this is a good work.
cause,i can never see the “culture” that reflect the
symbole of the society in china.or maybe simply a way to
explain the “world” there in the other countries…
