Text description provided by the architects. GARDEN
After reflecting on the urban parameters of the "Garden City", we took advantage of the uniqueness of the rules assigned to the site. We designed the building to appear to be floating over a garden that is oriented to the south, invaded by sunlight during the mid-day. The proposal multiplies the space for the garden, releasing the ground floor and letting the sun from the south to filter through the space.
DOMESTIC-COMMON AREA
We proposed a new relationship between domestic space and the multi-family home, capturing the qualities of the first and exporting them to the latter. Each home faces outward with a single window that invites residents to enjoy the great urban landscape. From the outside, each window is a home. Each of the 35 houses have their own identity within the communal space, without losing the sense of unity of the whole building.
SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS
With continuous visual crossings within the interior areas, we add value to the spaces of this set of privately developed housing. We also placed special attention to framing the urban landscape outside, using windows to bring the exterior into private spaces.
