A few months ago we told you about some changes on the jury of the Pritzker Prize, and some readers started pointing out names for the possible 2009 laureate.

The prize is only a few weeks away (it usually gets announced on March 31st) and we decided to setup a poll with the given names and the possibility that you add your own candidate.

Lets see if the ArchDaily community can guess the next Pritzker. Poll available on the sidebar or after the break:

SANAA diserves it the most this year, espacially a few months before the opening of the EPFL Learning Center….but it’s a shame that Calatrava never got it

what is this, a popularity contest?

If I were to choose one, Miralles is my pick, his works are definitely overlooked.

On a side note, they finally hired someone to redesign the website. It’s about time.

mo, you may realize this and are just trying to make a point about Miralles, but the pritzker is supposed to be awarded to living architects. Sadly, that takes Miralles out of the running, though his work is deserving.

I predict Calatrava for a winner. His overall body of work is substantial; I’m surprised he’s not an owner of the prize, yet.

why is steven holl always left out of the pritzker prize poll?
in outside discussions, so many people promote him to finally take it, but he’s never ever included. is it something political? pelli? vinoly? perrault? come on, what gives!

Zumthor!…..because of his philosophy, sense for materials, for atmosphere…there are only few contemporary starchitects that can compare with him…

Why Zumthor ? After 1999 he almost stopped building. He is very over-rated even if his building are amazing. He never managed to build outside of Europe, even outside of the germanic region.

    What about UN-Studio ?

I would vote for Toyo Ito, you can’t understand SANAA without Ito.

I think Calatrava deserves the prize for his enormous contribution to the architecture and society… Zumthor shoes a gigantic dedication to the trully and most pure architecture…. the space…the materials… and relationship with the landscape and site. He´s a genuine architect, but he doesn´t have enough works to be able to get this great prize.

i’m sorry but Zumthor not building since 1999 isn’t accurate. The bruder klaus chapel was built in 2007, granted his first construction since ’99, and is a fantastic use of material and construction techniques, as well as a departure from his more known works like the kunsthaus and therme vals.

hmmmm i voted/hoping for SANAA but I’m guessing if it’s gonna be japanese architect, it will probably be Toyo Ito since……he has been around for million years. Tadao Ando got it(right? if I remember it right) so i guess it will be Ito’s turn. Sanaa is still young enough compare to Ito I guess.

I love SANAA’s work, but what about Steven Holl? Both practices have major public works built in recent years.
