Mark Wigley é professor na GSAPP, Universidade de Columbia (Nova York), onde foi decano entre 2004 e 2014. Escreveu extensamente sobre a teoria e a prática da arquitetura. Wigley coescreveu Are we Human? Notes on an Archaeology of Design (2016) com Beatriz Colomina, quando ambos foram co-curadores da 3ª Bienal de Design de Istambul. Também foi curador da exposição Deconstructivist Architecture no Museu de Arte Moderna de Nova York (1988), além de outras no The Drawing Center, Nova York; Centro Canadense de Arquitetura, Montreal; Witte de With Museum e Het Nieuwe Instituut, Roterdã; e The Power Station of Art, Xangai. Mark formou-se em arquitetura (1979) e obteve seu Ph.D. (1987) pela Universidade de Auckland, Nova Zelândia.
