The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (MIVAU), in collaboration with the Higher Council of Architects' Associations of Spain and supported by the ARQUIA Foundation, has opened the selection process for the curatorship of the 17th Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BEAU). The deadline for submitting proposals is March 3, 2025.

The expansion of the Sesc network and the development of new facilities at Sesc Mogi das Cruzes have prompted a National Preliminary Architectural Design Competition. Promoted by the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc SP) and organized by the Institute of Architects of Brazil – São Paulo Department (IABsp), the competition aims to select the best architectural project submitted by architects and urban planners. The project involves the creation of a new "Park Unit" near the center of Mogi das Cruzes, on a flat site surrounded by natural areas and the São Paulo Green Belt, with views of the Serra do Itapeti.

At a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a place to live in large cities
smaller towns are confronted with the opposite problem: Emptiness. According to the
"donut effect", this phenomenon begins in the core of city centers. In Dessau-Roßlau in particular, the reality of ageing and out-migration is rapidly coming to a head. Throughout Europe, however, innovative young projects are already looking for alternatives to meet this challenge. This is also the case in Dessau with the Young City Makers research project. Students from the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences' Departments of Design and Architecture have been conducting action research for two years to find out how vacant properties in Dessau-Rosslau's city center can be sustainably revitalized. Using different approaches, three vacant spaces were transformed into: an urban living room, a street gallery and a bizarre space. In doing so, they show how liveliness and community can be fueled by involving urban society and through design.

State Tax University of Ukraine and its partners announce an Open Competition for the best architectural solution for the design of the Main Campus building of the University in Irpin (Kyiv suburb), which was almost completely destroyed in the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022.

The MICROHOME Kingspan 2024/25 invites participants to conceptualize an off-grid modular dwelling that would accommodate a hypothetical young professional couple. This scenario serves as the benchmark family size for the competition. The total floor area of the structure should not exceed 25 m2, thereby encouraging participants to push their creativity and innovate within these parameters.
