From 22 to 25 January, students from the School of Architecture at the Royal College of Art (RCA) will present a selection of works in progresses at the College's Kensington campus for this year's MA Architecture Work-in-Progress Show.

Explore Nanna Ditzel's groundbreaking designs centered on freedom and movement. The exhibition presents some of Ditzel's most iconic designs. Designs that challenge our ideas of traditional furniture and let us discover new ways of experiencing the body and spending time together.
Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was a pioneer of Danish design, known for her innovative approach by which she created furniture to liberate the body. Visit the exhibition and experience some of her most famous pieces, from the Hanging Egg Chair to the multifunctional Toadstool and other furniture landscapes.

Following its successful presentation in Venice & Bonn, Onomatopoeia Architecture arrives in Athens-Greece for the first time, offering a unique exploration of the work of internationally acclaimed architect Kengo Kuma. This exhibition highlights Kuma's innovative use of materials and his ability to create a multisensory architectural experience inspired by the concept of onomatopoeia—the connection between sound and material expression.

The University of Kentucky College of Design is partnering with New York-based nonprofit organization The World Around (TWA) to present TWA's first exhibition, Life On Earth from Jan. 24 through March 14 on display in the Gray Design Building's first-floor gallery.

The Irish Architecture Foundation will host the second Annual Summit of Open House Europe. Taking place in Dublin, Ireland, on January 30–31, 2025, the summit will present a public program exploring how accessibility and inclusion can transform cities into vibrant, welcoming spaces for everyone.

In the world of design, most of our attention is given to the objects and spaces we create. But behind every great space, there is a team of people who have been working for months, if not years, to make it possible. How these teams work together, and under what conditions work is getting done, has been an area of increased focus over the past years. Particularly in the field of architecture—where many of the common pitfalls of creative disciplines also intersect with regulatory requirements and exceptions to Ontario’s Employment Standards Act—there is an understanding that we must do better.

- International Invitation and Proposal Competition for 「Global Start-up Hub Busan」

Join DesignTO for 'DesignTO Talks:Net Positive’, a half-day event that brings together ten multidisciplinary experts to explore innovative responses to the climate crisis from a perspective of abundance. Speakers include Aaron Budd, April Barrett, Deepikah RB, Fran Erazo, Judith Wehmeyer van den Boom, Netami Stuart, and the Living Room Collective.

"The Heart of LA: Memories, Resilience, and the Road to Recovery" is a free public conversation about the LA fires and recovery for the region, moderated by architecture journalist Frances Anderton. This public forum will offer an opportunity to hear testimonials, mourn the community's losses, and have a constructive dialogue about rebuilding. Topics include short-term needs and long-term plans, the squeeze on housing supply, the role of fire insurance, and how the design community can help Los Angeles build back with wisdom and resilience. Architects, builders, advocates, and other experts will discuss and answer questions. (Additional speakers to be announced.)

Inviting schools to propose the best works from recently graduated architects, urban planners and landscape architects

I-Park is soliciting applications for its fully funded General Residency Program. These onsite, multidisciplinary residencies are open to artists and designers working in the visual arts, creative writing, music composition, moving image, architecture, interdisciplinary practice and landscape design. The residency season runs from May 20 – November 24, 2025. All sessions are 4-weeks in duration except for the May session – 2-weeks.

Felipe Mesa is the founder and principal of PLAN:B Architects, a design practice based in Medellin, Colombia. During the last 20 years, he has built over 50 buildings, with different programs and scales: public spaces, sports, and educational buildings, hotels, offices, houses, and art installations. PLAN:B's work has been selected and exhibited in various venues: Colombian Architecture Biennial, Ibero-American
Architecture Biennial, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Biennial of the Americas, Pamplona Latin American Architecture Biennale; and has been published and disseminated in specialized magazines and digital websites: A+U, Architectural Review, Lotus, Domus, Abitare, Arquitectura Viva, Archdaily, Architizer,

Mesa is an Associate Professor in The Design School (Architecture Program) at the Arizona State University. Before this appointment, he was an Assistant professor in the architecture programs of some Universities in Colombia: Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Medellin; Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ) in
Bogota, Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota; and he was Ivan Smith Eminent Visiting Professor at the University of Florida School of Architecture (SoA) - 2014.
Felipe understands the architectural project as a provisional pact, a permeable configuration, and a positive expression of the eco-social constraints surrounding us. His projects and research topics related to the practice and teaching of architecture have been published in four books by Mesaestandar Editors: Acuerdos
Parciales (2005), Awaiting Architecture (2007), Permeability (2013), Architecture in Reverse (2017); one book by AR+D Publishing: 12 Projects in 120 Constraints (2021); and one book by ORO Editions: Design Build Studios in Latin America (2023).
