80 Years of the College of Architects of Chile

A ceremony to welcome new members and honor our Lifetime and Honorary Members, an exhibition and discussion on the CA Bulletin (1944-1963), the presentation of the CA Awards and Distinctions, and a keynote lecture by the new National Architecture Prize winner are among the activities with which the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile will commemorate its 80th anniversary, all of which will be free and hybrid.

Exhibition: You Will Have Only Stones

Solo tendrás piedras is an exhibition developed by artist Alejandra Prieto in collaboration with architect Francisco Díaz. The project explores reflections on lithium, an element capable of regulating psychological imbalances such as bipolar disorder while simultaneously storing potential energy in the form of batteries.

International Seminar: Migration and Space / Universidad del Valle

The 21st-century agenda requires addressing a set of structural changes resulting from the development model that, at least since the beginning of the last century, we have maintained as a society and region. This is evident in our cities and rural areas, where conditions associated with poverty, inequality, violence, displacement, and climate change—to name a few—generate intense pressures, imbalances, and maldevelopment in the dynamics of social occupation and vacancy across much of our territory. We are interested in focusing on a spatial process framed within these dynamics: migration.

Lecture and Conversation with Paula Velasco: Heritage and the City

On Wednesday, August 10, at 10:20 AM, the first session of a lecture series will take place, organized by the School of Architecture at the Universidad Andrés Bello's Campus Creativo. The series is led by professors Claudia Woywood and Soledad Larraín in collaboration with the Valparaíso Zonal Delegation of the College of Architects and with the participation of Espacio La Compañía, as part of the "City and Architecture" course.

Exhibition: Timeless Architecture 2022

The Arquitectura Atemporal 2022 (Timeless Architecture 2022) exhibition, organized by INTBAU Spain and curated by Alejandro García Hermida, features both the winning entries from the Architecture Competition and the 2022 Richard H. Driehaus Building Arts Awards. The exhibition will be on view at CentroCentro, a cultural space located in Madrid's Palacio de Cibeles, from June 10 to August 7, 2022.

The River Workshop - Neiva 2022

What is Taller del Río?

It is a summer workshop organized by the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura Avanzada [ESAA] and the architecture firm [Ciudad Portátil] in Neiva, Colombia. The workshop aims to rethink new interactions within public space through experimental practices and the participatory construction of an ephemeral or semi-permanent installation that engages with its surroundings and reflects on being, belonging, and inhabiting the city of the Magdalena River.

THE SCHOOL___: Inaugural Lecture by Cecilia Vicuña

LA ESCUELA___ is an artist-led platform for radical learning and collective action in public space. By understanding art as education and education as art, it offers a free, open-access, transdisciplinary program featuring both online and on-site projects. EDUMEET FRICCIONES 2022 - International gathering for learning exchanges: Open call

Fricciones, an international meeting for learning exchanges, will serve as a forum to share unexpected situations that allow us to rethink how we want to learn. The event seeks to create spaces where new forms and experiences of learning can emerge. In this edition, we aim to focus on the frictions that occur in learning between, for example, teaching methods, spaces and architectures, bodies, or policies.

International Open Call: Remote Residencies

The School of Architecture at the Creative Campus of Universidad Andrés Bello is opening a call for applications for the first edition of Remote Residencies. This project seeks to foster transdisciplinary openings and experiments regarding contemporary and contingent themes of interest, formulating questions that interrogate the state of things while opening spaces for research and free creation. The work will be conducted remotely, followed by implementation through a collaborative effort between the resident and interns from the School of Architecture at the Creative Campus of Universidad Andrés Bello, Viña del Mar campus.

TAC! Urban Architecture Festival: Open Call

TAC! Urban Architecture Festival will transform a Spanish city into a space for innovation and experimentation each year. This will be achieved through the construction of a temporary pavilion designed by emerging architects, selected via an open call.
