Architectural firm Iglesias Leenders Bylois Architects (ILB Architects) has begun to incorporate the use of building information modeling (BIM). The greatest advocate is architect Meindert Leenders, who believes every architectural office should be working with BIM:
“It doesn’t need to be a big project. Take an actual case, set yourself a few achievable goals, and try to work them out in BIM." ILB chose 'Bergerheide' as a trial: a project consisting of three park villas, designed in collaboration with the construction company Dethier. The rules for collaboration were clearly set out by project director Vlaanderen Bouwt vzw, providing the architects a sturdy framework for experimenting with BIM.

Beam Center seeks design proposals for ambitious public artworks that will be brought to life through collaborations between youth and creative big thinkers. Projects will be realized by a community of more than 100 young people at each of our three 2023 Beam Project sites: in New Hampshire (NH), on Governors Island (GI), and in a local NYC community. Artists are invited to submit proposals for any or all of these three sites, but each proposal must be unique to a specific site. Artists proposing for Beam Project NYC are also encouraged to consider potential installation sites and partners, and to include these in their proposal. Winning proposals will be selected by a committee composed of Beam Center staff, youth, past project designers, and community members.
Building a city is an ongoing, additive act of creativity. Urban centers are continually being made and remade; they are palimpsests of the values, technologies, ingenuity, and aesthetics of times that precede ours and that were vital in shaping our present. The evolution of the city depends upon designers’ ability to find ways to preserve this past, while shaping a rich and resilient ecosystem for the future.
On June 23, 2022, the Prequalification Review Meeting of「Beyond YUE｜Jianhu Revival」Shaoxing Jianhu Planning and Design Competition was held at the Jianhui Hall of Mirror Lake Hotel, Keqiao District, Shaoxing City. After 6 hours of careful review, discussion and selection, 6 participating units stood out and were shortlisted for the conceptual planning & urban design and competition review stage of the competition from 46 valid application documents submitted by 89 international top planning and design units and firms, as well as 11 individuals.

The competition will be conducted in the form of a non-anonymous competition workshop: Competition Jury, the Competition Clients and other stakeholders will be engaged in a dialogue directly with the competition participants. The Jury will select will select up to 10 teams who will participate in the competition based on their portfolios. The shortlisted teams will work on a concept for the development of the 4th Quadrant of Victory Square. The jury will then select a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 teams to proceed with the development of their proposals. After the end of Competition Phase 2 the Competition Client will negotiate a follow-on contract with the winner of the competition.
The Vienna Architecture Summer School (VAS²) aims to provide an open learning space and prototypical infrastructure for the exchange and negotiation of knowledges in architecture, reaching beyond dominating institutions and mainstream discourses. The first edition of the VAS² invites local and international participants to exchange with young architects and established experts all practising in Vienna.
Drawing Fields is a series of large-scale works by Outpost Office exploring the spatial potential of notation. Each installation utilizes GPS-controlled painting robots to mark site-specific, building-size drawings at 1:1 scale. The drawing series employs techniques of measuring, delineating, and marking to investigate architecture as the dynamic performance of spatial instructions.
We are elated and excited to begin our new adventure with our debut in Hyderabad on 17th – 19th Nov 2022 at Hitex Exhibition Centre called iDAC Expo, after a riveting success of the iDAC Expo Mumbai Edition held in May 2022 at the exquisite Jio World Convention Centre. Our aim is to create an impact with education on the development of cities via knowledge sharing platforms within the entire Built community. Hence we are extending iDAC to reach and cater to southern India. iDAC is India’s largest knowledge sharing forum on build Industry. A platform curated BY THE PROFESSIONALS, FOR THE PROFESSIONALS, The USP of iDAC is that it Celebrates Collaborative Efforts of the stakeholder within the fraternity The conferences witness the finest National and International Brands, Eminent Builders, Developers, Architects, Engineers, Designers, MEP Consultants, Project Management Consultants and Government Officials from pan India. iDAC in its editions held through 2018 to 2022 witnessed 25,000 professionals & 1400 speakers, across a 5, 00,000 sqft.
The workshop will take place in Parco degli Olivi, a beautiful olive grove on the slopes of Mt. Brione, managed by the CasaMia Association, a foundation active since 1922 and dedicated to social inclusion for disadvantaged children and teenagers. The intervention aims to equipe the space with furnishing elements for meetings and events. During the workshop, the participants will ideate and create wood installations, following the suggestions provided by the organizers and developing eco-friendly, practical and sustainable designs based on the relationship with the landscape and its inhabitants.
