The city of Puebla—located in the central highlands of Mexico—is particularly well-known for its street layout and predominantly Baroque architecture. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, the city hosts a broad cultural dynamic centered on the preservation of its built heritage and its appreciation from a distance, as if it were a museum piece. Consequently, in our daily commutes, we notice the monumentality of its facades, often overlooking the fact that behind the large wooden doors lies what we have called "the heart of the Poblano house."

Looking around, it is clear that the world is developing at a rapid rate, and so are cities. Architects and designers inevitably take on the challenge of building better cities and homes, so time needs to be properly allocated for efficiency. After all, in this industry, time really is money.
For years architects have been accustomed to working in a conventional way: they stick with traditional offline renderers and wait until the modeling part is all done to start rendering from scratch.
This is where software like D5 Render comes in, to resolve such problems and change the game. The market is growing and shifting, and so should the tools architects use.

Hospitality is an industry made of people being hospitable to people, and our interaction with places is its foundation. If the zeitgeist of our era lies in the perpetual dance of shock and awareness of how we treat each other and the planet we live on, what considerations should we pose to inform and shape what’s next for hotels? If there’s ever been a moment to think about the future of hospitality, this is it.
Building culture through architecture is one of the driving forces behind the MEXTRÓPOLI Architecture and City Festival. To this end, a series of books will be presented during the festival, offering citizens, architecture and urban planning students, and those interested in reflecting on how cities are built and the future of contemporary architecture an opportunity to engage with these topics. Here is the schedule of presentations:
Book: Politics and Architecture, Olahres Publishing
Nearly a decade after the first edition of Arquitetura e política and following their tenure in institutional politics, the authors revisit the key postulates of contemporary architecture—its responsibility toward society—in this second volume, adapting them to new forms of political engagement that center feminism as a primary component. To this end, they provide a historical and thematic overview of the social role of architects and urban planners, tracing its evolution into the current era of globalization. Drawing on issues such as community life, participation, gender equality, and sustainability, the book identifies and analyzes the contemporary vulnerabilities of architecture.
Book: The Practice of Urban Sketching, Olhares Publishing
"More than just a drawing book, you are holding a definitive practical guide featuring 25 exercises and simple tricks that will help you dive headfirst into the world of urban sketching. How do you create sketches without being intimidated by a sketchbook you have just bought? How do you produce quick drawings? How do you achieve spatial depth? What should you consider when coloring a sketch? How do you find the best spot to draw?
Book: Architecture and Criticism, Olhares Publishing
Focusing on the relationship between architecture and criticism, this introduction to architectural theory provides the necessary context to understand the mechanisms, limitations, and objectives of the field. It spans from the pioneers of 20th-century architectural criticism to key figures in modern historiography, such as Sigfried Giedion, and the writings of leading architects like Adolf Loos and Le Corbusier. The text explores various interpretations derived from existentialism, phenomenology, iconography, and structuralism, leading up to the current post-structuralist landscape—highlighting figures such as Peter Eisenman, Rem Koolhaas, and Kenneth Frampton. This journey through the 20th century offers a comprehensive understanding of the critical frameworks employed from the field's origins to the present day.
