As part of the Fall 2022 Lecture Series and coinciding with Miami Art Week, the Department of Architect in collaboration with STEFANO BOERI ARCHITETTI (SBA), present the Lecture “Green Obsession. Trees Towards Cities, Humans Towards Forests,” by Stefano Boeri, on Thursday December 1st at 5:30pm in the Design Gallery at FIU’s Miami Beach Urban Studios.

The second edition of the Forêt Monumentale will open in June 2024. Twelve ephemeral monumental works will be installed along a 4km route in the Roumare forest, in the municipality of Canteleu, near Rouen, France.

The second edition of the Elisava Masters’ Talks, a series of free, public lectures featuring top-tier international creatives, will take place from November 2022 to May 2023.

The international master jury of the 4th cycle (2020-2023) of the Abdullatif Alfozan Award for Mosque Architecture had their second and final meeting at Kuwait last 11-13 November 2022. The meeting was chaired by Architect Rasem Badran (Saudi Arabia and Jordan) and attended by all jurors: Architect Emre Arolat (Turkey), Architect Kashif Chowdhury (Bangladesh), Artist Ahmad Mostapha (United Kingdom) and Sociologist Sari Hanafi (France).

On Wednesday, November 23, starting at 9:00 AM, Estácio will host a meeting with government officials, business leaders, merchants, and others interested in initiatives to revitalize downtown Rio de Janeiro. Hosted at the MAR (Rio Art Museum) in Praça Mauá, the Transforma Rio event is free and open to the public. It will feature Mayor Eduardo Paes and other guests who will discuss key aspects of urban revitalization. The full program and registration details are available on the Transforma Rio website.

‘The City and Invention: Encounters between Architecture, Anthropology, and Art’ was a research workshop curated by Adolfo Estalella and Pablo Arboleda in collaboration with Tamara Arroyo, held at the facilities of Intermediæ – Matadero Madrid Contemporary Creation Center between March and June 2022.

The 74th edition of the Revista da Biblioteca Mário de Andrade features twelve articles analyzing the contemporary state of libraries. Launched in 1943 as the Boletim Bibliográfico da Biblioteca Municipal de São Paulo, it has been published as the Revista da Biblioteca Mário de Andrade since 1992. With the theme "The Library and the City," this issue was guest-edited by Francesco Perrotta-Bosch, biographer of Lina Bo Bardi.

The School of Architecture at the Universidad Andrés Bello’s Campus Creativo, across its Santiago and Viña del Mar campuses, is pleased to invite you to a two-part end-of-semester event featuring GRANDEZA Studio. The studio will host a lecture and subsequent discussion titled "Teatros Disidentes" on Thursday, November 24. Additionally, on Friday, November 25, the first Remote Residency will open with the exhibition "Mars Interruptus."

Design Week is a biannual event hosted by the Department of Architecture and Design at the Universidad de la Costa (Barranquilla, Colombia), established in 2019. It serves as an exhibition and competition space where results from emerging classroom creative processes are presented, bridging them with the realities of professional practice. Through presentations before a national and international jury, the event aims to showcase and share the achievements reflected in classroom teaching and learning dynamics, highlighting interdisciplinary knowledge from all academic programs within the Department to the university community.

On November 25th, architect and urban planner Adriana Levisky, partner at Levisky Arquitetos | Estratégia Urbana, will give a talk at the 20th edition of FLIP, an important Brazilian cultural event where literature encompasses various urban themes brought into focus during the literary festival.

New Generations is a European platform that investigates the changes that have occurred in the architectural profession since the economic crisis of 2008 through the analysis of some of the most pioneering practices operating at the European level. Since 2013, New Generations has involved over 500 European emerging studios in a wide array of cultural projects and events, including architecture festivals, exhibitions, open calls, video interviews, workshops, and printed and online publications.

Wellness and Well-Being in Coworking Spaces is an online event brought to you by the makers of the book “Around The World in 250 Coworking Spaces” a global guide on coworking concepts, business models and founding stories. This event is an exploration, one that will take you from Berlin to London, Vancouver, and Amsterdam to meet founders and teams of coworking spaces who’ve used wellness and well-being as a means of differentiation.

This November 24th, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) will organise its first online Open Day of the current Academic Year.
