‘Palimpsest Barragan’ offers a unique opportunity to engage closely with a 20th-century modernist architectural masterpiece by Luis Barragán. As a hidden and still unrecognized gem nestled in a paradisiacal jungle on the Pacific coast, the ruins of this unfinished building have faded into obscurity. Much like Mexico’s pre-Hispanic pyramids, the site is currently in a state of progressive decay. The workshop will not only ‘unearth’ the project and finally place it on the map of architectural discourse, but it may have an even greater impact by initiating a debate surrounding the preservation of the disintegrating ruin.

The National League of Architecture Students (LINEA Mexico) and the Higher School of Engineering and Architecture present the 2022 edition of the International Meeting on Computational Design, Digital Fabrication, and Technology Applied to Architecture, better known as Atrica. The city of Puebla—located in the central highlands of Mexico—is particularly well-known for its street layout and predominantly Baroque architecture. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, the city hosts a broad cultural dynamic centered on the preservation of its built heritage and its appreciation from a distance, as if it were a museum piece. Consequently, in our daily commutes, we notice the monumentality of its facades, often overlooking the fact that behind the large wooden doors lies what we have called "the heart of the Poblano house."

This book analyzes the origin, development, and dismantling of the Lima Planning Institute (IPL) at the National University of Engineering (UNI), which served as the headquarters for Project 205 of the Inter-American Program for Urban and Regional Planning (PIAPUR).
The book highlights the Institute's significance within both the national and Latin American contexts regarding professional training in urban and regional planning, while considering the influence of the various schools of thought and the political and social movements of the era. It was the first postgraduate program of its kind in the country and the first in its specialty in Latin America.
