On Saturday, April 5, the Eiffel bookstore will host the launch of the book Avenida Brasil rodovia metropolitana. Por um estatuto contemporâneo do espaço infraestrutural. Winner of the 2023 IAB National Award, the book advocates for the concept of the "metropolitan highway." Based on a case study of the urban segment of the BR-101 highway in Rio de Janeiro, the work explores the road far beyond the notion of mobility, positioning it as a key space for rethinking design and urban planning in Brazilian metropolises and the Global South.
Featuring a rich and extensive iconography, the book includes a Morphological Atlas of Avenida Brasil. This visualization enables the proposal of "design logics between highway and territory" as catalysts for the relationships and spatialities implicit in the interface between infrastructure and human occupation.
The event will feature a conversation between the author, Pedro de Moraes, and Professor Guilherme Lassance, author of the book In-formal. Infraestrutura urbana revisitada, which will also be launched at the event. The discussion will be moderated by architect and urban planner Pedro Sales, a professor at Escola da Cidade.

The architecture competition to design the future Environmental Education Center at the La Laja landfill seeks to propose a space that promotes understanding the landfill as an educational site for human adaptation toward responsible consumption and a shift in how household solid waste is conceptualized, focusing on reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting.

Buildner has released the results of its Pape Info Point Competition, organized in partnership with The Latvia Programme of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF Latvia) which focuses on environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable resource management in Latvia.

This international competition invited architects and designers to propose a new visitor information point for Pape Nature Park, a protected area on Latvia's Baltic coast. Participants were challenged to design a structure that enhances the park's role in conservation and ecotourism while blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The goal was to create an engaging and educational space that informs visitors about the park's rich biodiversity, migratory bird populations, and unique ecosystems while maintaining a minimal environmental footprint.

Propuesta Decente is a series of conversations among architects. Organized by ASN/nOISE, the series held ten consecutive, successful editions between 2011 and 2020, featuring the presence and contributions of the most interesting and influential figures in Argentine and Latin American architecture.

This book examines Rio de Janeiro as an unequal city, addressing its relationship with the chronic problem of socio-spatial segregation. From this starting point, it explores the concept of "city supply," seeking to distinguish itself from approaches informed by the urban standards of the formal city. Urban infrastructure projects have historically been conceived according to a strictly utilitarian, monofunctional logic, with little integration into the urban and social contexts in which they are implemented. By mapping instances of informal appropriation of designed infrastructure within the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area, the work identifies and constructs a series of alternative spatial and functional categories capable of contributing to the planning of a more hybrid, resilient, and inclusive city. The publication is divided into an initial theoretical section, followed by an extensive collection of case studies referred to as the "body of evidence." This section presents instances of the observed informalities, alongside critical essays.

This book serves as a guide to Brutalist architectural production in Pernambuco, enriched with texts, photographs, and design materials that provide a foundation for understanding various works. The book is organized into chapters that present themes and typologies related to Pernambuco's Brutalist heritage in a didactic and chronological manner.
