Before You Submit: Rights, Use & Responsibilities

Why are we introducing a new access model?

ArchDaily introduced a subscription model to continue advancing its mission: empowering architects and the wider design community with high-quality editorial content, tools, and inspiration.
This new model supports the ongoing curation and production of in-depth architectural journalism and original content crafted by our editorial team. As part of this change, access to some of our in-house articles and select platform functionalities will be limited to registered or paying users.
A significant portion of ArchDaily remains free and open—whether you choose to register or not. However, to provide uncompromised, professional-grade content and tools that architects and industry professionals rely on daily, certain features and content are available exclusively to subscribers.

Will I retain ownership of my content?

You retain full ownership of your work. By submitting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish and promote the material.
Please note that while ArchDaily makes every effort to protect the integrity of published content, we cannot be held responsible for any third-party use or republication of materials that have been sourced from our site without our consent.

Where will the material be featured?

By submitting material, you are granting use in ArchDaily and its social media channels, newsletters and email campaigns.
Please note this means the material can also be used by affiliated sites such as Architonic and Designboom, although we operate separately. In case you expressly want your work published on one of the affiliated sites, do not hesitate to send it to them through their own submission channels.

How will the material be used?

In addition to the specific publication type that was submitted; your content may be featured, grouped, or indexed under various thematic or geographic filters to improve discoverability. It may also be recommended or linked to related content across our ecosystem.

Will ArchDaily make changes to my submission?

We reserve the right to edit written content for clarity, grammar, and length; to add or correct missing credits or collaborators; and to select which images or materials are published. We may edit and use excerpts, quotes, images, or parts of images from your submission to promote it or feature it in related editorial content. This may include applying visual adjustments, formatting, or adapting materials to meet editorial, technical, or platform-specific requirements. In all cases, proper credit will be maintained and associated with your work across our platforms.

What are my responsibilities as a contributor?

By submitting, you warrant that you hold all necessary rights or have obtained permissions to share the content; and that the content does not infringe on any third-party rights.

Will you credit me and my collaborators?

We are committed to properly crediting all contributors (e.g., architects, photographers, collaborators). Please ensure all relevant credits are clearly included in your submission. ArchDaily is not responsible for disputes over credit or authorship submitted inaccurately, and in the case of unsolved disputes, we hold the rights to remove the publication.

What happens once I submit?

All submissions are reviewed by specialized teams who will contact you if your submission is approved. Our Team selects the best submissions in order to provide inspiration and knowledge to our readers on a daily basis. To make sure your submission is complete and improve your chances of being featured, read our Guide to Publication.

Can my submission be rejected or removed?

We reserve the right to refuse publication or remove any content at any time, especially if it includes false information, is inappropriate or offensive.

Can I update or withdraw my submission?

Let us know if any content or credit needs to be updated or corrected. Your content will remain published unless you request its removal. You may contact us at projects.archdaily@daaily.com. Please allow a reasonable period for us to process such requests.

Can I submit external editorial contributions or reprints to ArchDaily?

Yes- ArchDaily occasionally publishes external contributions (one-time or occasional articles by professionals) as well as reprints (previously published work). We feature external contributions on a voluntary basis, with the aim of highlighting expert voices and perspectives that complement our in-house editorial work.
All submissions must follow ArchDaily’s editorial guidelines, include at least five images with proper credits and authorization, and will be subject to review by our Managing Editor. We generally accept a maximum of two external pieces per month (combined contributions and reprints), and final publication decisions are made to fit within our editorial calendar.
External contributions will be tagged and include an introductory note about the author’s expertise. Reprints will carry a special identifier, along with a note on the collaboration with the original platform.
If you would like to be considered, please send a brief description of your proposal along with your profile (or for reprints, examples of previously published work) to our editorial contributions email. Only submissions deemed relevant and aligned with ArchDaily’s standards will be published.

What will be offered in exchange?

You are submitting your content voluntarily for editorial consideration and visibility. We do not pay for content submissions. By submitting, you acknowledge and accept that no financial compensation or royalties will be provided.
By having your work published on ArchDaily, you will have access to a specialized, engaged and loyal audience distributed around the world. If material provided or owned by you is published on ArchDaily, you’ll be given complementary access so you can enjoy all of our content and functionalities. Please reach out to us to contributors.support@daaily.com in case you need further information.
