LZF is a Valencian company that combines traditional knowledge, hand-made by expert craftsmen, with technology and research. They produce ambient lighting with natural fibers, artisanal techniques, and identity.
Located in Girona, Spain, the Palau de Casavells is a contemporary art space located in a building with 14th-century roots. Its restoration has allowed it to merge history and modernity, making it an ideal setting for photo shoots where architecture and design complement each other. In this context, LZF carried out a photographic production that captures the interaction of light and wood in a visually rich environment. A one-off action with lighting design by Marivi Calvo.
For this shoot, several LZF luminaires were selected and strategically placed to enhance the architectural qualities of the space. Among them, the New Wave suspension lamp, with its fluid design, brings a dynamic play of light into the main rooms. The Swirl luminaire, with its enveloping structure, generates a unique visual impact in the composition of each scene.
On the walls, The Air provides a light effect in accent lighting. On the other hand, the Totem and Dandelion pendant lamps bring volume and depth, adapting to the high ceilings and highlighting the geometry of the place.
The LZF luminaires used in this photo shoot demonstrate how lighting design can transform a space, integrating light and materiality harmoniously. Each piece helps to define a balanced aesthetic, highlighting both the historic character of the building and its current function as an art gallery.
The use of laminated wood lighting generates a warm and diffused light, providing visual comfort and emphasizing the contrasts between the architectural elements. In addition, the selection of luminaires in different formats - pendant, wall, and accent - guarantees an efficient adaptation to the needs of the space, achieving a balance between functionality and design.
The session at Palau de Casavells is a clear example of how light and architecture can dialogue, creating environments that enhance the expressiveness of each project.
