LZF is a Valencian company that combines traditional knowledge, hand-made by expert craftsmen, with technology and research. They produce ambient lighting with natural fibers, artisanal techniques, and identity.
Located in Fontanars dels Alforins, Valencia, Casa en la Viña is a residence designed by Ramón Esteve in 2017. This rural retreat takes as a reference the traditional gable-roofed dwelling, reinterpreting its form in a contemporary design. The house is integrated into the surrounding landscape, between fields of vines and a pine forest area, with a materiality that harmonizes with the environment.
The project is composed of two monolithic volumes differentiated by their materials: a white concrete structure that defines the central space and a series of structural boxes of heat-treated pine wood that cross the house. The house is organized around a concrete core that articulates the rooms, with large openings that frame views of the landscape. A large porch reinforces the relationship with the exterior, functioning as a rest area that visually connects with the pine forest and vineyards.
In the kitchen and living room, the Eris, OH-Line, and I-Line suspended luminaires provide functional and enveloping lighting. In the bedrooms, lamps such as Thesis Mesa and Lens Aplique Oval provide spot and decorative light, while in the hall and passageways, Suns and Black Note Panels generate dynamic visual effects and reinforce the ambience.
The Lens lamps in the composition provide a play of light and shadows in one of the rooms, highlighting the interior design of the space. Finally, the Black Note Triplet Foot luminaire reinforces the ambient lighting with its sculptural presence at the entrance.
The LZF luminaires selected for this project reinforce the relationship between architecture and landscape, providing efficient lighting with high aesthetic value. The combination of natural materials and warm light creates a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere.
Casa en la Viña is a benchmark of sustainable architecture, conceived under Passive House criteria. The house has a renewable energy system, efficient thermal insulation and optimized control of natural light. The integration of designer lighting contributes to the visual identity of the project, enhancing its connection with the environment and its contemporary character.
