Suspension Lighting -  Swirl | Lzf

LZF is a Valencian company that combines traditional knowledge, hand-made by expert craftsmen, with technology and research. They produce ambient lighting with natural fibers, artisanal techniques, and identity. Designed by Ray Power, Swirl is a suspension luminaire that stands out for its fluid and enveloping rhythm.

Inspired by the movement of swirls, its three-dimensional form is composed of sheets of wood veneer carefully arranged to generate a sense of dynamism and depth. Swirl is a sculptural piece that enhances any space with its organic and elegant presence.

Timberlite: This is the treatment given to the wood veneer used as a diffuser in LZF. It is an exclusive and patented treatment that reinforces its color, protects it against breakage and humidity, and makes it a very malleable material.

The diffuser is made of laminated wood veneer with an enveloping structure in 13 available finishes. Its structure is made in a metal canopy of 8 cm, suspended by 2.5 m-long electric cables.

Swirl was awarded the 2016 Good Design and a Special Mention German Design Award. Recognized for its innovative design, Swirl also received a Special Mention from the German Design Council, highlighting its aesthetic impact and excellent craftsmanship.
