Roca presents the Ohtake collection, a design collaboration that brings architectural fluidity and organic forms to the bathroom space. Inspired by the natural curves of the ocean and the horizon, Ruy Ohtake’s collection embodies movement and flow. The renowned Brazilian architect, known for his bold geometric forms and sweeping curves, applied his signature style to create sculptural washbasins that seamlessly integrate architecture and design.
Ohtake’s vision aimed to awaken the senses, transforming the everyday bathroom experience into an artistic encounter. His designs go beyond functionality, inviting users to engage with spatial fluidity and dynamic surfaces. The collection’s organic shapes challenge conventional design, embracing a sense of unpredictability and emotion.
The Ohtake collection has been extended with two new washbasins designed by architect Rodrigo Ohtake, son of the original creator. Drawing from the curves introduced by his father and inspired by the Brazilian landscape and the calla lily flower, Rodrigo softened and elongated the forms to create pieces that invite interaction. The basins, available in black, white, and a new terracotta finish, were presented at the 2023 Expo Revestir in São Paulo, where they received the “Best in Show” award.
