Retractable Roofs at The Wharf Manitowoc | ShadeFX

Custom-designed, pre-fabricated, and ready-to-install, the outdoor structures from ShadeFX offer countless customization options and unique features that deliver robust sun and rain solutions. Retractable roofs from ShadeFX were used in the redesign of The Wharf Manitowoc, a restaurant in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

The Wharf Manitowoc has become a year-round entertainment facility by the lake with a full-service restaurant and bar. The project was in charge of Keller Inc., a single-source design/build company that combines planners, architects, and builders. Keller Inc. commissioned ShadeFX to help transform the site from a shipping container into a multifunctional event rental location.

The project included an almost 3,500 sq. ft. outdoor area covered by eight 24' x 18' motorized retractable roofs with gutters. The waterproof and fire-retardant Ferrari Boulder fabric matched the attached metal structure and powder-coated Traffic Black for added protection.

The weatherproof coverage allows the restaurant to host events on its large patio regardless of weather conditions without worry of rain or shine. The roofs can be extended or retracted for full protection or opened to allow for open skies.
