G Wood Pro is the licensed U.S. supplier of Tantimber® thermally modified wood products created using a process called ThermoWood®. The ThermoWood process retains the fundamental features of natural wood while also increasing its longevity, structural stability, durability, and decreasing its susceptibility to humidity and subsequent rotting and other water damage.
Pine Decking
G Wood Pro Pine decking products, manufactured from native Scandinavian pine trees, are the ideal choice for a knotty pine look. The Pine decking range has a wide variety of sizes (both thickness and width) and applications, including swimming pools, terraces, balconies, and piers.
The ThermoWood Pine collection meets European Technical Standards Class 2 requirements for durability, providing a service life of 15 to 25 years.
Properties
The ThermoWood process refines and modifies wood transforming its structure into a stable and durable configuration, preventing expanding, contracting, twisting, and cupping. Tantimber products have a low moisture content, meaning they don't deform due to seasonal temperature changes, making them virtually impervious to insects, fungi, and bacteria that can cause decay.
Thermal Modification Process
Thermally Modified Timber (TMT) minimizes the dehumidification and deformation behavior of timber by raising the internal temperature of the wood above 392º F in a controlled process. As a result, the deformation, warping, and splitting associated with other dehumidification processes are minimized. Because of the thermal modification process, Tantimber products are suitable for outdoor and wet-area applications. They are available in a wide range of sizes and cross-section profiles.
