Tonkin bamboo canes are known to be extremely straight, thick-walled with non-prominent nodes. It is highly recommended for light construction such as furniture building, fences and screens. Caneplex Design tonkin bamboo poles canes are available in lengths of up to 400 cm, to suit a wide variety of decorative indoor and outdoor applications. Before installation, it is important to consider that the diameter and color of each pole may slightly vary, preserving its natural look.

Material Sourcing

Caneplex Design natural materials are a product of selective cultivation and specific harvest time, which have been physically dried, heat-treated and disinfected before and after insertion, and their colour is completely natural, resulting in hue variation. For each one of them, the quality control is carried out by local partners while being subjected to phytopathological inspection before and during import.

Bamboo Maintenance

Vertical cracks can occur in bamboo poles. Just like wood, bamboo expands or shrinks when temperature or humidity conditions change. Cracks, however, have no effect on the durability of a bamboo fence. An important factor in maintaining bamboo products over time is the right placement and support. The connection-weaving is external or internal. Caneplex uses galvanised wire - stainless steel - laminated galvanised-black, depending on the kind.

It is advisable to use a wood preservative (fungicide) and water-soluble (preferably) wood varnish, colourless or in close tint, initially and at regular intervals of 2-3 years. That way the material is protected from fungus, the colour does not fade straight away, it is infused and preserved beyond the anticipated time.
