In the heart of Burgundy, France is a kitchen remodel in an old barn using Cosentino. The kitchen, the centerpiece of the barn, can host a family living area, in order to enjoy dishes and moments together during weekends or holidays in the countryside. Anne Valery, a specialist in decoration and in charge of the restoration, opted to turn this barn into a bright and spacious living space, the opposite of its previous condition with small windows and few openings to cool the dark space.
For this renovation, the existing walls were preserved and materials capable of evoking the memory of the place and the surrounding nature were chosen. For the same reason, a concrete layer was selected for the pavement that enhances the rough and authentic character of the place. The choice of a wood finish for the furniture and green tiles for the wall of the kitchen's main work area evoke the proximity of the garden and its vegetation.
And for the center of this rehabilitation, Cosentino was chosen, for the countertop and the central island of the kitchen, the Silestone® surface in Charcoal Soapstone color was chosen, which created a visual continuity without losing this general image being realized. The dining table, with the top surface also made in Silestone® by Cosentino in Charcoal Soapstone, offers a nice contrast thanks to its greater thickness, made with 2 cm slabs, with mitered corners (to obtain a visual result of 5 cm).

Cosentino surfaces were able to highlight the essence of the place, creating a true family room, in order to relax and feel comfortable, thanks to this open, bright and simple space.
