Sizes9 x 16 cm, Depth: 15mm
The new Gira G1 is the intelligent central operating unit for all building technology. Whether switching and dimming lights, raising and lowering blinds or controlling room temperature: All the functions can be controlled by touching or gesturing on the multi-touch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. In connection with the DCS IP gateway, the Gira G1 can also be used as a home station.
Automatic functions and comprehensive scenes can be programmed easily in just a few steps and modified at any time. From adjusting lighting and blinds, setting the room temperature, and online weather forecasting to door communication, the Gira G1 can be used to control many building technology functions intuitively. The selected function is called up and available for use with just a touch or a gesture, such as resting your hand on the display or swiping. Many settings for the Gira G1 and the building technology controlled by it can easily be made by the users themselves using the display.
- Status display
The status display can show values from a wide variety of sources, including on/off states, temperatures, or brightness values, for example.
The interface can be adapted to users’ needs. For example, functions can be compiled to create personal favorites or the sequence can be changed.
- Lighting control
Switching lights on and off, or dimming them to exactly the desired setting: With the Gira G1, lighting can be controlled with maximum flexibility. Several switches and dimmer templates are available for the various requirements.
- Integrated room temperature controller
The integrated room temperature controller is able to control heating and cooling systems. Set temperature, operating modes like Comfort or Night, or a weekly timer can be conveniently adjusted directly on the Gira G1. The actual room temperature is recorded via KNX, e.g. the touch sensor 3 Comfort, and continuously displayed in the status bar.
- Blind control
Raising or lowering blinds or roller shutters, positioning them at a precisely predefined height, and moving slats into the desired position: The user has got everything under control with the Gira G1.
The timer is convenient to operate and can be used to control many functions. Certain functions can thus be automatically triggered at a specified time every day or only on certain days of the week. For example, the blinds are automatically raised every morning and lowered again in the evening, or the heating automatically switches to night mode.
- Calling up scenes
The perfect room ambiance includes the right light, the ideal temperature, appropriate privacy protection and perhaps a little music in the background. The desired mood can be called up directly at the touch of a finger using the Gira G1.
- Door communication
When combined with the Gira DCS IP gateway and a door station video, the new Gira G1 can be used as a home station. The camera image automatically appears on the display when the doorbell rings. Communication can be initiated, the door can be opened or the light can be switched on at the touch of a finger.
- Function folder
Individual functions – such as all the light functions – can be bundled in a function folder to provide a better overview. Function folders also offer the option of mapping a simple building structure.
- Weather forecast
The free online weather service from Gira can be integrated over the internet. That way, you know in the morning whether to pack an umbrella for the day.
Predefined settings control the blinds and heating: The encoder sends the values to the KNX system; the external devices can analyze them and execute the corresponding functions.
- Direct function
By placing your hand on the display, you can directly call up a predefined main function. The Gira G1 thus becomes a simple switch that can be used to switch the ceiling light on and off, for example. The main function is shown using the screen that is currently active and automatically disappears again once a certain period of time has elapsed.
The installation process is simple: Three different flush-mounted connection modules are available: 230 V WLAN, 24 V WLAN, and Power over Ethernet (PoE). 230 V WLAN is the standard module when new intelligent building technology is installed during refurbishment projects. With the 24 V WLAN module, the Gira G1 can be installed in the flush-mounted box of an existing touch sensor for the KNX system.
Power is supplied via the KNX line, and data is transferred via WLAN. In new builds, the Gira G1 is connected to a network cable and supplied with power with the Power over Ethernet (PoE) module.
