Race Furniture has been at the forefront of the design and manufacture of seating for public spaces since its formation by acclaimed British designer, Ernest Race. Founded in 1945, Race began furniture manufacturing under the government’s utility scheme. The company was a pioneer in the manufacture of products from recycled materials and created furniture for post-war homes from limited resources.
Although proud to still manufacture the classic furniture of our founder, Ernest Race, our main business is the creation of expertly crafted seating for theatres, concert halls, opera houses, lecture halls, airports and public waiting areas. We have a long pedigree of creating projects of distinction in partnership with many of the world’s leading architects and designers.
