Timber Frame Component - EcoBox* | EGGER

EGGER is an internationally leading manufacturer of wood-based materials for furniture and interior design, timber construction, and wood-based flooring. EGGER EcoBox* is a hybrid structural component combining EGGER OSB, EGGER structural timber, and wood fiber insulation. Developed for timber construction, the hollow box element supports the prefabrication of timber building elements and can be used as an alternative to solid timber posts in timber frame wall construction.

The standardized manufacturing process supports consistent product properties and dimensional accuracy, making EcoBox* suitable for industrial production of timber construction elements. The combination of materials creates a dimensionally stable component with an optimized weight-to-load-bearing-capacity ratio.

EcoBox* can also be used for rafter, beam, and parapet applications in roof construction, as well as building refurbishment and facade renovation projects. The component combines thermal insulation properties with a construction designed for precise dimensions and efficient prefabrication.

The production facility accommodates lengths up to 6,500 mm. Depending on market requirements and thermal performance specifications, component heights range from 160 mm to 400 mm. EcoBox* is available in an 80 mm width and, from March 2026, in a 60 mm version.

The product is designed around resource-efficient use of wood compared with solid timber. The combination of materials supports efficient wood use, while raw materials from EGGER's own production processes support material availability.
