Vibia is a lighting manufacturer that develops architectural lighting solutions for residential, hospitality, workplace, and public environments. The company presents Array, a pendant lighting collection designed by Umut Yamac that explores the structural and visual potential of fine technical threads.
Array is constructed from an arrangement of fine technical threads tensioned between an upper aluminum ring and a lower brass ring, transforming an almost imperceptible material into a three-dimensional architectural element. As light interacts with the layered threads, the luminaire produces subtle chromatic gradients and a dynamic visual effect that changes with the viewer's position, creating a perception of movement, depth, and volume while maintaining a lightweight appearance.
Configurations
The collection is available in a variety of conical and cylindrical silhouettes, heights, and diameters, allowing it to respond to projects of different scales. Array can be specified as an individual pendant or combined into larger suspended compositions, making it suitable for creating both focal points and large-scale lighting installations within residential, hospitality, retail, and public interiors.
Materials & Finishes
Array features an upper aluminum ring, a lower brass ring, a polycarbonate (PC) diffuser, and flame-retardant PES threads that define the luminaire's distinctive form. The collection is available in Beige M1 (NCS S 2005-Y50R), Terra Red (NCS S 4040-Y70R), and Green L1 (NCS S 4005-G80Y).
Lighting Performance
The collection incorporates an integrated LED light source with a 2700 K color temperature. Discreetly integrated within the lower ring, the lighting system combines direct downward illumination with indirect upward light, creating balanced ambient lighting while enhancing the surrounding architecture through soft, layered illumination.
