CENTROmx, with the support of INDAJO and the Government of Tlajomulco, announces the 2018 Mictlán Pavilion Competition. Open to students and recent graduates (28 years of age or younger) in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Urban Planning from the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, the competition invites participants to design and intervene in a pavilion at the San Juan Evangelista pier on the shores of Cajititlán, offering the opportunity to imagine and propose a space that interacts with the community during the “Mictlán Festival 2018,” held in celebration of the Day of the Dead.

FACtual 2018: Active Iberian Registry of Young Architects

The Contemporary Architecture Foundation (FAC), with the support of Roca through its Roca Galleries and in collaboration with the Directorate General for Architecture of the Ministry of Public Works, ASEJA, and various Schools of Architecture, among others, is promoting the Active Iberian Registry of Young Architects (FACtual). The foundation has launched a call for entries aimed at architects under 40 who are based in Spain or Portugal.

Loja 2018 National Urban Artifacts Competition

BACKGROUND
The Loja Urban Laboratory is a multi-stakeholder, creative, and innovative space that seeks to support and strengthen local public policy for the comprehensive improvement of neighborhoods and public space through a holistic and sustainable approach. The laboratory’s work contributes to building an inclusive, safe, and equitable city by strengthening an intervention model for peripheral urban neighborhoods, promoting planned and sustainable urban development while optimizing land use and occupancy. The core focus of comprehensive neighborhood improvement is based on the recovery, activation, and appropriation of public space through citizen participation, promoting universal access and enjoyment for all as an exercise of rights, and as a foundation for the right to the city.
