Porto Alegre will host the 21st Brazilian Congress of Architects in October 2019. Organized by the Institute of Architects of Brazil, the event will serve as a preparatory meeting for the 27th World Congress of Architects (UIA2020RIO), which will take place in Rio de Janeiro in 2020. The theme of this edition is Space and Democracy.

Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 80/2019, a collective proposal led by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, suffers from blatant unconstitutionalities, in addition to posing structural risks to economic and social development. These issues are analyzed in detail below, based on the following aspects: 

Registration is now open for the 27th World Congress of the International Union of Architects (UIA), the world's largest architecture event, which will be held for the first time in Brazil, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in 2020.
