Course Details
The Master in Design for Emergent Futures is for students who want to expand their focus interests and acquire the skills to turn protests into prototypes, ideas into actions, and who are engaged in the mission of transforming the current status of affairs in society. The programme aims to provide strategic vision and tools for designers, sociologists, economists and computer scientists, to become agents of change in multiple professional environments and focuses in the design of interventions in the form of products, platforms and deployments that aim to produce new emergent futures, by previously analysing the current challenges in society and industry. The Master in Design for Emergent Futures is organised by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, in collaboration with the Fab Academy.

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia – IAAC, wants to support the development of the field of urbanism, urban planning, and urban design by advancing technologies for the formation of the future urban environments. For this reason, IAAC and its industry collaborators offer a partial scholarship to study in IAAC’s Master in City & Technology which begins in October 2021!

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the fifth call of the Media Architecture Biennale Awards for outstanding projects at the intersection of architecture, urban design and planning, media and interaction design. The awards ceremony will take place on July 2nd, 2021 as an online live cast featuring the nominees and winners.

The TERRAFIBRA Award is a global award in contemporary earthen and plant fibre-based architectures. Its objective is to promote the aesthetics, construction perks and environmental benefits of 40 sustainable buildings. For those outstanding buildings to be fully recognized by both professionals and the general public, every stakeholder involved in the process must be acknowledged as well. Indeed, the objective of the award is to shed some light on remarkable projects while praising the courage of clients who have chosen mineral and bio sourced materials, the creativity of designers and know-how of craftsmen and contractors.

Mango Architecture is happy to announce their second edition of annual Architectural Thesis Award, after a great success in ATA2020 with 350+ registrations from around the globe. ’ORTE Architekturnetzwerk Niederösterreich’ annually grants a studio apartment in Krems as well as a scholarship financed by the Federal Province of Lower Austria to three artists focusing their work on building culture. The duration of stay is selectively one to three months.

The network of schools of architecture Designing Heritage Tourism Landscapes (www.iuav.it/dhtl) promotes an international conference at Iuav University of Venice.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Architectural League Prize Competition. Projects of all types, either theoretical or real, and executed in any medium, are welcome. The jury will select work for presentation in lectures, digital media, and an exhibition in June 2021. If COVID-19 restrictions are required, the exhibition and lectures might shift to a digital format. Winners will receive a cash prize of $2,000.
