The 5th annual VMSD Scholarship + Experience recognizes and supports leadership potential in the Interior Design, Retail Design, Hospitality Design, Visual Merchandising, Architecture, UX Design, Engineering, and Product Design fields through a $1,500 scholarship plus an invitation to attend the 2024 International Retail Design Conference (IRDC) in Providence, Rhode Island, this October with airfare, hotel, and daily per diem covered—a prize package totaling $4,500 for this year's recipient.

Active since 2021, the Inspire Future Generations Awards (IFGA) celebrate exceptional initiatives within the built environment that centre the voices of children and young people. This annual competition welcomes entries from architects, planners, local authorities, developers, and other built environment professionals who are committed to advancing participatory design with children and young people.
The IFGA recognises projects that demonstrate excellence, creativity, care, and a genuine commitment to engaging young people in shaping the spaces around them. Over the past four years, the Awards have played a key role in growing TET’s community of practice: connecting people, sharing knowledge, and fostering collaboration around inclusive and youth-centred design.
Our principal aim of running this awards programme is to open up space for young people to be heard, participate in and empowered in decisions about the environments they live, learn, and play in. By highlighting the value of participation, the IFGA helps ensure that the design of our cities and communities reflects the needs, ideas, and aspirations of younger generations. Each year the winning award entries are added to the TET Resource Bank, sharing knowledge, examples and speakers for TET Dialogues. The entries are featured in our Empowering Environment Report and winners will have space to present and reflect on their work. The aim is to foster deeper exploration, development, and dissemination of knowledge on this key topic within the built environment.
Architect Fumihiko Maki (1928-2024), in his seminal text "Investigations in Collective Form," grapples with architecture's role in an increasingly complex society. Collective Form emerged when buildings came together to produce something larger than the sum of their parts. While today many of these same challenges exist, the notion of Collective Form has also expanded. The Steedman 2026 jury seeks mindful research proposals on architecture's role in producing collective forms/ forums that catalyze a more politically engaged discipline and citizenry. The award for the 2026 winning proposal will be $100,000.

The call for the seventh edition of the European Award AHI is now open, an event that has become a benchmark for architectural heritage intervention, as evidenced by the large number of works submitted in each edition, which help shed light on the direction in which Europe is heading in this field.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House (Buffalo, New York) is pleased to announce a call for applications to its Creative Residency Program. The residency provides individuals from multiple disciplines a thought-provoking environment in which to produce new works of the imagination inspired by one of the great examples of 20th century architecture.
Applications to the 2026 season will open on April 14 and close on May 9. They will be accepted in two distinct categories. The Artist Program supports the development and presentation of creative works as they relate to Martin House. The Researcher Program provides opportunities to conduct research that will lead to published texts or projects in various fields, again as they relate to Frank Lloyd Wright and Martin House.
Creative makers who are selected to participate will generally spend 2-4 weeks onsite either consecutively or incrementally within the residency term: June - October, 2026. Residents are also expected to deliver a free public program, performance, exhibition, or other creative presentation in order to share their Martin House-inspired work with the larger public.
Residents will receive a stipend of $5,000. Travel expenses of up to $1,000 will also be provided to residents who are from outside the Buffalo-Niagara region.
The Creative Residency Program is an opportunity for the Martin House to respond to and engage with our community. We anticipate that it will lead to more robust interpretations of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Martin House, and the people who once lived and worked here so as to expand the dialogue as to what great architecture is and why it matters.

I-Park is soliciting applications for its fully funded General Residency Program. These onsite, multidisciplinary residencies are open to artists and designers working in the visual arts, creative writing, music composition, moving image, architecture, interdisciplinary practice and landscape design.
