International Architecture Competition

First International Sustainable Architecture Competition 'Roots & Dreams': Registration Open!

The inaugural ‘Roots & Dreams’ International Sustainable Architecture Competition challenges participants to design a residence on a 1,000 m² plot, with a maximum construction area of 200 m². Proposals must align with three pillars of sustainable architecture: biomimicry (nature-inspired), bioclimatic design (considering the local context of the Quintana Roo jungle), and the use of local materials and low-impact ecotechnologies.

Participants may enter individually or in teams of up to five members.

Mayukwayukwa Refugee Camp Competition: Sustainable Development Center in Zambia

Zambia has been hosting Angolan refugees since 1966, when the Angolan revolution against the Portuguese spread to the east of the country, forcing people to flee to neighboring Zambia in search of safety.
Nearly 60 years later, Zambia continues to receive refugees from a long list of countries, predominantly from the Congo, Burundi, and Somalia. In total, there are approximately 105,000 refugees in camps and settlements across Zambia, 65,000 of whom are from the Congo and 20,000 from Angola.
