Second United Nations Habitat Assembly

Second United Nations Habitat Assembly convenes in Nairobi, Kenya

Second United Nations Habitat Assembly will take place from 5 to 9 June 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya, headquarters of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

It will adopt resolutions to advance housing and sustainable urban development and seek to find pathways to address issues of sustainable urban development in times of multiple crises: pandemics, conflicts, climate change, and lack of capital.

The Assembly is a universal body of the United Nations system composed of 193 Member States. It convenes once in four years to focus on the policy work and review major issues and trends affecting human settlements and urbanization.

The United Nations Habitat Assembly recommends strategies for implementing urban dimensions of the 2030 Agenda, the New Urban Agenda, and other global agendas related to sustainable urban development.
