CALL FOR PAPERS: EXTENDED ABSTRACT // DEADLINE EXTENDED
The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) and the BUILD Solutions project partners have launched the CALL FOR EXTENDED ABSTRACTS for the Responsive Cities 2021 Symposium!
Responsive Cities is a bi-annual international symposium on the future of cities organized by the Advanced Architecture Group of IAAC. The 2021 edition focuses on “Design with Nature” and takes place within the framework of the Building Urban Intelligent Living Design Solutions (BUILDs) project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The Symposium will take place in Barcelona from the 11th-12th November 2021.
If you are a educator, researcher or practitioner in this field, you are invited to submit novel and high quality papers on the following topics:
DESIGN – bio-design | environmental feedback | collective intelligence
BUILD – reintegrating nature | digital fabrication | new bio-inspired planning paradigms
ADAPT – nature-based solutions | biotechnology | black ecologies
PERFORM – living systems | increased liveability | ecosystem services
SHARE – participatory design | novel virtual environments for co-design | symbiosis
LEARN – new educational models | applied research | making

SELECTED ENTRIES:
Successful participants will be notified 8th October and will be asked to submit the full paper by the 31st October 2021. All contributions will be collected in a digital publication with an ISBN code and you will have the opportunity to present your work at the Symposium. Submission of extended abstracts implies the author’s agreement to publish the extended abstracts and paper in the conference proceedings publication, including the website.
FEES
Participation in the symposium is free of charge, however presenting authors of selected papers will be charged 200€ (junior)/350€(senior) to participate in the Symposium and publish their contribution in the Conference Proceedings. The fee also includes the participation in the social dinner for one person.
