Open Call: EASA Apathy 2020

Open Call: EASA Apathy 2020

European Architecture Student Assembly (EASA) is an international voluntary network of architecture students, whose goal is the free exchange of ideas and to cultivate more radical architectural practices.
We are now happy to announce an Open Call for anyone interested taking part in the summer school as a participant or a tutor of a workshop.

The main output of EASA is the annual summer school, where workshops, lectures and seminars dissect the central theme chosen for the specific assembly. It is a platform for 600 architecture students and young professionals to question architecture, experiment and play with space and discuss the future of the field.

The theme chosen for EASA 2020 is Apathy. The dictionary definition of apathy is “a lack of reaction”. Though apathy does not have a physical representation, the aftermath of it is easily noticeable in public space and architecture. The issue that lies in a different realm, the origin that hides somewhere deeper. Apathy thrives in between the ears. Apathy can be individual or collective, something that is taught to us, embedded into our education system. EASA 2020 will be taking a look at what is the aftermath of this personal apathy, the source of it and how to live with it.

The call is open for anyone studying or working in the field of architecture or dealing with space. The deadline for the workshop proposal is February 25, 23.59 (GMT+2). More info can be found here:
