Exhibition: Russia on the Road. 1920 – 1990

Institute of Russian Realist Art in participation with the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, the “Academia Arco” International Fund, The Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism of the Italian Republic, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Italian Embassy in Moscow, the Ingosstrakh insurance company, Promsvyazbank and Lomonosov Moscow State University present the exhibition Russia on the Road. 1920 – 1990, which is dedicated to theme of transport, one of the most important themes for the artists of XX century.

The exhibition will feature about 60 paintings and graphic works of the 20th century as well as works by contemporary artists contributed by several major Russian museums. The display has been assembled from the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Scientific Research Museum of the Academy of Arts of Russia, the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSIZO, the Union of Artists of Russia, the Tver Regional Art Gallery, the State Art Museum of Altai Region (Barnaul), the Kursk Deyneka Picture Gallery, the Sukachov Irkutsk Regional Art Museum, the Museum of Cosmonautics, the Schusev State Museum of Architecture, the Regina Gallery, the National Gallery of Armenia and private collections. This exhibition presents audiences with famous masterpieces by Alexander Deyneka, Yury Pimenov, Alexander Samokhvalov, Georgy Nissky and Alexander Labas as well as introducing seldom seen art – such as the paintings and graphics of the sixties.
