This Thursday, August 8th, starting at 5:00 PM, the book launch for “Mario Ferrer – Arquitetura, Arte, Design e Instrumentos de Percussão” (Mario Ferrer – Architecture, Art, Design, and Percussion Instruments) will take place during the 10th Brazilian Congress for the Development of Hospital Buildings (CBDEH). The event is being held at the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
Published by Rio Books and sponsored by the Council of Architecture and Urbanism of Rio de Janeiro (CAU/RJ), the work was curated by architect and urban planner Igor de Vetyemy. It features texts by Vetyemy, Luiz Fernando Janot, Luiz Carlos Toledo, and Romulo Guina, alongside photographs by Raphael Magalhães and research support from Natalia Borba (NPD/FAU/UFRJ).
Igor de Vetyemy explains that the publication showcases some of the more than 300 architectural projects created by Ferrer, in addition to original drawings, models, and images of completed works. It also highlights his diverse contributions to the fields of visual arts, design, and the creation of a series of percussion instruments. “Through QR codes embedded in the book, readers gain access to valuable records, including a video interview with Ferrer himself and a virtual guided tour of his studio, captured with 360º filming technology,” he explained.
