Estudio Guto Requena is opening its creative hub—a historic mansion in downtown São Paulo—to the public for the first time, showcasing projects and works developed through research at Juntxs.Lab, its laboratory for empathy, design, and technology studies. The studio will host guided tours on September 8 as part of the DW! 22 program at Rua Major Diogo, 91, in Bela Vista, by appointment.
The exhibited works investigate various biofeedback and interaction inputs, a research area the laboratory has explored for over 15 years, bridging technology and affect. Visitors will be able to experience two pieces: the "Emotions Bench" prototype, a piece of furniture that allows guests to connect emotionally through the synchronized pulsation of their heartbeats, voices, and vibrations. Visitors will also have the opportunity to use virtual reality headsets to experience a 100% digital environment. The experience consists of a visual representation of heartbeat inputs and the connection between participants, exercising the playful and sensitive field championed by the studio’s values.
