Escola da Cidade – School of Architecture and Urbanism will host the exhibition Informal Rooting – An Open Atlas from September 12 to October 11, curated by Italian architect Alessandro Tessari.
The work stems from the observation that a global process of "rooting" is underway in contemporary metropolises. In these settings, "informal cities" structure themselves, persist, and settle into the collective imagination, producing an unprecedented sociocultural mutation. This paradigm shift generates invariant processes that are also expressed through the physical body of these settlements, which are beginning to change and adopt new logics of stabilization and reorganization.
