We invite everyone to the third meeting of the event "Latin American Conversations: Design Processes," organized by the extension project "Design Processes of Contemporary Women Architects," coordinated by Professor Ana Gabriela Godinho Lima, in partnership with the "Arqtetatlas" collective. The event will take place on Thursday, October 28, at 6:30 PM, featuring Ecuadorian architect Malu Borja.
Malu Borja is a founding partner of the Ecuadorian firm Al Borde, which integrates the discipline of architecture with contemporary social debates, linking them to the principles that guide their designs. By using the local context—along with its possibilities and challenges—as a platform for architectural experimentation, they explore design processes that incorporate rationalization, vernacular practices, and the collective and collaborative involvement of their surroundings. The team was recognized by Domus magazine as one of the 100 best architecture firms of 2019, in addition to having their work honored by the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture in 2013. The firm also holds several international awards for their projects, such as the Panorama Ibero-americano de Obras award for the Casa de Camas no Ar project at the XI BIAU, and the 21st Century Schools in Latin America and the Caribbean award for the Las Tres Esperanzas project.
The event is online and open to the public. Certificates of participation will be provided to all who register in advance.
